If you are heading for Sydney, then you can take in the arguably the most famous beach in Australia; Bondi beach. At 1 km long, it is a sight to behold, and its proximity to Sydney makes it ideal for those that dont wish to travel too far. If you are there on a Sunday you can also check out the Bondi Beach Market; offering a whole variety of things, including fashion, homeware and art.

If you are heading to the South, you should check out Glenelg beach, which offers a variety of activities from checking out the local shops, restaurants and bars to more active pursuits. If you have a few cents to spare, you can book trips to see the dolphins in the bay or even swim with them on dedicated boat trips. If your budget is more of the shoestring variety however, why not take a picnic to Old Gum Reserve? The home of the well-known tree, which is steeped in history, this is a wonderful place to relax and take in an area of importance to Southern Australias history.
