Ideas for a Luxury Vacation

Are you craving a little luxury in your life? Maybe you really need a holiday and you’d love to be able to relax in luxury without a care in the world. It can be hard to pick a holiday destination that will give you a taste of luxury while still being within a reasonable budget, so here are some ideas for a luxury vacation:

Go “Glamping”

Do you enjoy luxury, but also enjoy the beauty of the outdoors? Glamping might be the right trip for you. Take in the crisp mountain air while also having access to wifi. Royal Gorge Cabins offers luxury cabin rentals in Colorado as well as glamping tents. Sleep in the outdoors like royalty in a king bed with luxury linens. Get warmed up by the indoor and outdoor fireplace and enjoy a private patio. Relax and unwind after a day of hiking or white water rafting with the flat-screen TVs offered in every cabin.

Hit the Beach

If you’ve been dreaming of lying on a beach chair with a margarita in your hand, the sand under your toes, and the sound of the waves breaking, this is the vacation for you. For those who have enough time to make the flight worth it, you can’t get better than Mexico for luxury on a budget, and Cancun and Cozumel have all-inclusive resorts for less than $100 a night- now that’s living. For something closer to home, consider Greece or Spain, and to keep costs down, head overseas during shoulder season.

Hire a Lodge

If you’re more of a forest person, consider The Retreat. Located in Devon, you’ll find luxury lodges which are surrounded by a huge 13 acres of parkland, with a variety of styles to choose from. Consider the Tuscany, which has an electric wood burning stove, comfortable furniture, and French doors which allow light to pour in during the late afternoon.

Another option? The County Retreat which is romantic, contemporary, and has an eclectic mix of both modern and vintage furniture, with an intimate yet luxurious feel.

Take a Safari

If you’ve always wanted to go to Africa, now’s the time to do it in style. Think glamping, which is a popular way to see the many animals on the continent without needing to sleep in a typical tent and squat in the woods. There are many countries to choose from, which will depend on the type of animals you want to see, but South Africa is a good bet if you’re hoping to see the Big 5, and you can also explore top destinations like Capetown.

Have a Luxury Weekend at Home

If you’re like most people, you probably spend a large portion of your weekend running errands, catching up with friends and family, and doing housework. But if you need to chill out, consider having a luxury weekend at home. If possible, take a Friday or Monday off work for maximum relaxation time, and let everyone know what you’re doing so you’re not disturbed by constant phone calls. Work hard to get all your errands done through the week, and commit to winding down for a whole weekend.

Head to a shop like Lush for some decadent bath bombs and bubble bath, grab a few candles and some of your favourite snacks, stock up on magazines and wine, and spend the whole weekend treating yourself. You may want to book a massage somewhere local, but be sure to take plenty of naps, catch up on your favourite shows, and indulge yourself.
