Your kitchen sees a lot of traffic throughout the week. It’s a multi-use room that is the hub for cooking, eating, doing homework, and hanging out. Keeping every inch of this busy space clean can be challenging, but thanks to these helpful kitchen cleaning tips, it’s about to get a whole lot easier.

1. Make Your Cookware Showroom-Worthy

Have you ever seen a kitchen showroom that displays each piece of cookware like it’s a work of art? This is what kitchen dreams are made of, and you can bring this idea into your home. All it takes is a clever cleaning strategy.

If your cookware has burnt-on stains, try a combination of baking soda, vinegar, and water to fizz away the mess. Simply sprinkle the baking soda over the pan’s surface and then pour a solution of 1/3 vinegar to 1-cup of water over it. Let the mixture fizz, and when done, wipe and rinse it clean. This works great on cookie sheets, oven racks – anything that’s stained from years of use.

2. Keep Your Disposal Unit Lemony-Fresh

A foul-smelling garbage disposal unit can destroy the otherwise beautiful ambience of your kitchen. Luckily, there’s an easy and effective method for keeping your disposal unit clean and fresh.

First, get yourself an ice cube tray. Fill each compartment with a lemon wedge, rock salt, and water, and pop the tray in the freezer. When frozen, toss a few cubes down the disposal and run it. The rock salt and ice particles will clean the blades while the lemon will leave the unit smelling fresh.

3. Clean Your Oven While You Snooze

If you’re like most people, you hate the auto-clean feature on your oven. It tends to set off the smoke detector and leaves a funky smell that infiltrates the entire house.

Rather than deal with all that, whip up a cleaning solution of 1/2 cup baking soda, 1/3 cup water, and 1/3 cup white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray the inside of your oven, coating it completely but avoiding the heating elements. Let it sit overnight while you sleep. In the morning, use warm soapy water and a soft cloth to wipe down the inside of the oven.

4. While You’re At It – Clean the Oven Racks Too

Here’s another while-you-sleep kitchen cleaning tip. As it turns out, powdered laundry soap isn’t just for laundry. Dissolve some powdered laundry soap in hot water in the bathtub. Submerge your oven racks, and let them soak for several hours. When you return, they’ll be sparkling clean!

5. Got Woodwork? Polish it With Lemon Oil and Vinegar

Most wood polishes can be harmful if inhaled or ingested. However, thanks to essential oils, you can breathe new life into your dull wood surfaces without exposing yourself to anything toxic. Combine 1-part lemon oil and 1-part white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray a microfiber cloth with the solution and use it to clean the wood surfaces of your home including baseboards, kitchen cabinets, and that pantry door.

6. Vacuum Your Kitchen Cabinets Clean

Don’t waste time trying to remove dust and food debris from your kitchen cabinets and pantry shelves. Instead, get out your vacuum, attach its hose, and suck out all that mess in one easy sweep!

A kitchen is a busy place. Indeed, it’s probably the most-used room in the house. Keeping it clean can be a full-time job, but thanks to the kitchen cleaning tips above, your kitchen chores will be much easier and faster than ever.
