In this new normal, there are more people than in the previous years who have opted to work at home due to the ongoing pandemic. Some people think that it is going to be easy since you are working in your own comfortable space while generating some money. But then working at home may not let you feel like working at all. Instead, it may let you feel like you are on vacation especially when you are not used to this kind of setup. So the constant battle is going to be with yourself. I am here to share with you some tips to bring out the best of you and dominate your productivity even at home.

Here are the 5 Productivity Tips that you can adapt while working at home:

  1. Set-up Your Own Personal Working Area

Having your own personal space will help in staying focused on your work. Find your favorite spot in the house where you are most comfortable. Make sure that the area you are going to be working at has good ventilation, lighting, and has easy access to the things you need for work. Do not pick a spot that is too comfortable for you or else there is a tendency that you will fall asleep or your attention will be flying all over the place! Create a space that is just the right fit for you to feel like you have your own office while working in a company but in truth, you are working safely at your home. Hang a large personalized family name signs for the holiday feels.

  1. Avoid Unnecessary Distractions While Working

Most of the time, this is the reason why a lot of people are not getting any progress with their work. Distractions everywhere. Your attention is going to be divided that one way or another it is going to lean on one side. Guess what? Your brain is going to choose to scroll around Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, or even let you finish an episode on Netflix. So the best thing to do is to block all these distractions. You can download an app that blocks websites that keeps you from being productive. Once you have done that, you will find yourself more driven to accomplish the task at hand. 

  1. Make Your Own Working Schedule

Who else is going to know your time better more than yourself anyway? At the end of the day, you get to decide when you have to work so might as well keep your own working schedule to monitor tasks and deadlines that you have to meet. Make your everyday to-do-list with a specific time allotted for you to accomplish it. Only include the things that you must do for work! Do not obviously include “Party at 10 in your friend’s house.” Remember, you have to manage your time wisely. Stick to your goals! You made that schedule for you to follow or else you are just going to be kidding yourself and end up procrastinating.

  1. Visualize Your Lifelong Dream

Especially when you are exhausted, there is a tendency to get lost, stressed and lose all the motivation to work productively. It is okay to feel lost but you should also help yourself get back on track because life goes that way. Time will not stop for you. When you feel lost, it is important to reflect on why you started doing this job in the first place. What is in it for you in the future? Who are you doing this for? It is a way of telling yourself the reason why you should not be giving up.

  1. Make Time For Regular Breaks

Yes! A break is what you deserve after all that serious stuff. Reward yourself for the things you have accomplished. You deserved it after all. You have also got to enjoy life and its wonders. Take a walk outside, do some exercise, play with your pets, watch that movie that you have set aside for work, and be with your friends and family. Make time for self-care. It is true that work is important but you also have to prioritize your physical, emotional, and mental health. Restart your energy if you must then you will find yourself happier with the life you have.

In this new normal, we are indeed challenged to open ourselves to change. The current situation has never been easy but with the right mindset, attitude, and people we surround ourselves with, it helps us in staying right on track.
