Highlights of Sunny California

Who doesnt want to go to California? Made famous because of its gorgeous year-round weather, disproportionately good looking population, stunning beaches and of course, LA and Hollywood. If youre considering a trip to the Sunshine state, youll want to plan your trip to you can fit in as many highlights as possible. The truth is, theres a lot to see in California, much more than I could fit in one post. Take a look at the eShores website as they feature a great range of packages, offering exceptional value, for your next trip to the USA – perfect especially if you don’t have as much time as you would like. For some inspiration as to where you might choose to go, here are some of my favourite places to visit, and a few more Id love to check out next time:

Alcatraz Prison:

Located in San Fransisco, this former prison is thought to be haunted. Take a night tour through this historical building, and figure out whether the rumours are true or not. You’ll get wonderful views of the city on the boat ride to Alcatraz, but bare in mind that this is a very popular attraction so I suggest booking online. The audio tour is worth getting as it’s jam packed with information you might otherwise miss.

The Golden Gate Bridge:

Nothing really says San Francisco like this world-famous bridge. No matter how poorly the weather is, it’s a striking bridge with a beautiful city backdrop. For an interesting perspective of the bridge, why not hire a bike and bike across? No trip to San Francisco would be complete without a visit, so do it in style.

Glacier Point, Yosemite:

One of the most famous national parks in the United States of America, Yosemite is a must see if you have the time. Glacier Point is absolutely stunning, a cliff perched overlooking the beautiful scenery. The view is unmissable. There’s also a wonderful trail here too, well worth exploring. Don’t forget your camera for this one as you’ll want to take lots of photos.

The Getty CenterLos Angeles:

How could you visit California without seeing some art? The Getty Center is home to a wide range of art pieces, from all around the world. Furthermore, the terrace is absolutely stunning and worth a visit for the view alone.

San Diego Zoo:

San Diego is a wonderful coastal city, that is very laid back and relaxing, compared to the fast pace of LA. It is also home to one of the most wonderful Zoos in the world, complete with some giant pandas. You can easily spend a whole day here, and this is a fantastic attraction that will delight family members young and old.

The truth is, there’s a lot to see in California, much more than I could fit in one post. What’s your favourite place to visit in California? Let me know in the comments section.
